This Should Be Interesting

I'm told that world's greatest musicologist Richard Taruskin once sent one of his infamous postcards (goose quill dipped in venom) to John Adams, with the message: stop talking to the media.

NOT BLOODY LIKELY, the dude just published his MEMOIRS, for chrissake. Also, someone has to defend him in print from such unhinged or uncharitable critics as, say, Richard Taruskin. But I have to admit, I did not see this coming: ladies and gentlemen, the John Adams Blog.

It is called HELL MOUTH, because John Adams is a huge fan of Buffy.

Well I, for one, cannot wait to see what comes flying out of this Hell Mouth. Welcome to my blogroll, John Adams! And the URGENT folder of my RSS reader.

(UPDATE!)

john adams has a particular knack for obnoxious and infantile titles of things, so Hell Mouth is no disappointment or surprise

Daniel, you know that John Adams is in New Haven right now to deliver the Tanner lectures, right?

You can witness the eruptions of that Hell Mouth first hand.

Patrick, I HAVE NO IDEA.

Sarah, duh, I should totally have mentioned that—I'll amend the post. Also, I don't know if you guys have (or if he has) an intern or somebody who could screen his comments section for him, but, YIKES.

Oh, and and, it would be awesome if there were a f'reals RSS feed for his blog, so that his legion of rabid fans could be notified as soon it's updated...? I'm attempting some sort of Google Alerts kludge right now and it doesn't seem to be working.

Chouette!

I've suggested a few functionality recommendations to get the blog in top tech shape. RSS is definitely on the list; agreed re: comments.

I notice that you do not require approval for your blog comments but for some it's certainly advisable. For example, if you have a genius brain and HELL MOUTH. ;)
