The Importance of Being Kernis

I really, really, really wanted to use that as the headline for my review of Aaron Jay Kernis's deeply earnest Third Symphony.

As someone who played in that orchestra, I would have to disagree when you say that "Kernis did a masterful job of ordering and balancing the musical throng." Oh boy.

Ahhahahaha I'm sorry I was wrong. The crummy thing about Woolsey Hall is that one loses a lot of these fine details. Every so often, this is also the great thing about Woolsey Hall.
